Israeli Flat Bread

Well into week 1 of the Corona Virus I ran out of bread! Not to fear...with just a few basic pantry items and 15 minutes...yalla I have bread! This is a TOTAL throwback to my dormitory days at Hebrew University of Jerusalem!!!


This goes great with hummus, guacamole or as a twist on sandwich bread!

ingredients


2 cups flour

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp kosher salt

½ tsp baking powder

1 tsp Za'atar (or cumin)

1 cup milk (almond milk for Vegan)

1 tbl olive oil

Olive oil for cooking


directions

1. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl

2. Heat the milk and olive oil until its warm and combine with the dry ingredients

3. Kneed and set aside for 3 to 4 minutes

4. Cut into 6 equal size pieces, roll each one out until they are ¼ inch “pancakes”

5. Grill on a hot griddle with olive oil for about 3 min per side or until they are cooked
