Where do I get these funky spices and ingredients?????

As most of my recipes are built on ethnic dishes I learned from my travels and living abroad some of the ingredients are a bit out there! Not to worry, everything is readily available and pretty cheap. Most have MUCH less preservatives, additives and all the crappy stuff that you find in most American condiments...most food throughout the world wont last in your pantry for 10 years!

Maybe I am lucky but between my local Vons and Trader Joe's I can find great produce. Actually my Vons in Simi Valley has amazing Thai bird peppers and Indian eggplants!

If you have an Asian, Middle Eastern or Indian food store nearby you can find a plethora of great produce. I personally love Japanese stores but not a huge fan of 99 Ranch... or here are a few good sites:
